Citizens of Pigtown (COP) is a volunteer-based, non-profit neighborhood organization promoting health, well-being, and a superior quality of life in Pigtown.  The Citizens of Pigtown Association was founded in 1971 and incorporated in 1973 as the Southwest Community Council (SWCC), the “Citizens of Pigtown”.


The Citizens of Pigtown Association is faciliated by a Board of Directors that consist of 12 volunteers (who live or own property or businesses within the Pigtown boundaries).  The members are elected by the community (unless positions open mid-term). Elections are held every two years.


The Board of Directors meets monthly typically the first Thursday of the month. These meetings are open to the public and all board minutes are made available for  public review.


The COP Community Meetings are held monthly, typically on the second Tuesday of every month from 7PM to 8:30PM. Dues (currently $10.00) are collected annually however we welcome your payment at anytime!
