Live Baltimore is a nationally recognized, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to promoting the benefits of Baltimore City living. Each year, Live Baltimore provides thousands of individuals with information on the city’s 250+ neighborhoods, rental living options, homebuying incentive programs, historic tax credits, and more.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) Live Near Your Work (LNYW) Program is a homebuying assistance benefit for University employees that offers money toward the down payment and closing costs of homes in select Southwest Baltimore neighborhoods, including the purchase of a home requiring major renovations. Grants up to $16,000 available.
Business & Neighborhood Resources
The Southwest Partnership is a coalition of seven neighborhood associations and six anchor institutions in Southwest Baltimore. They work together to build awesome communities in the Southwest Partnership Area: the neighborhoods of Barre Circle, Franklin Square, Hollins Roundhouse, Mount Clare, Pigtown, Poppleton, and Union Square.
South Baltimore Gateway (SBGP) is a non-profit organization which is acts as the steward of casino impact funds. Pigtown is one of 10+ neighborhoods falling within the Horseshoe Casino impact area. SBGP provides grants for events and programs in Pigtown and the other neighborhoods around the Horseshoe Casino.
Friends of Carroll Park, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to the advancement and stewardship of the Carroll Park Master Plan as well as preservation of the cultural legacy of what was once a diverse community of enslaved Africans, European indentured and convict servants, free blacks, and Native Americans. They strive to maintain a clean, healthy and vibrant park facility that provides recreational opportunities to our neighbors while maintaining the rich history that is an integral part of the Pigtown community.
Pigtown Main Street is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to the commercial revitalization of the Washington Boulevard commercial corridor. Founded in 2000, they are an original member of Baltimore Main Streets (a program of the Mayor’s Office of Small, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses) and an accredited Main Street America member organization.
Paul’s Place is a catalyst and leader for change, improving the quality of life in the Pigtown neighborhood and the surrounding Southwest Baltimore communities. Paul’s Place provides programs, services, and support that strengthen individuals and families, fostering hope, personal dignity and growth.

Nextdoor is the neighborhood hub for trusted connections and the exchange of helpful information, goods, and services. They believe that by bringing neighbors together, they can cultivate a kinder world where everyone has a neighborhood they can rely on. Building connections in the real world is a universal human need.
Have a trash or zoning issues? Request for a light or sidewalk fix? Submit a request through 3-1-1 3-1-1 connects Baltimore citizens, businesses & visitors with a vast array of city services, programs and information. Either by a live agent-assisted phone call or through the self-service web or mobile portal, 3-1-1 allows customers to report a problem, request a service, check the status of a previously submitted service request, and obtain information regarding City programs or events. Constituents may call 3-1-1 to file non-emergency police reports.
